I am about to start this page with a gross understatement. I have been greatly encouraged, challenged and impacted by John Piper's teaching and ministry. John Piper is the Pastor for Preaching at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and studied at Wheaton College, where he first sensed God's call to enter the ministry. He went on to earn degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary (B.D.) and the University of Munich (D.theol.). For six years he taught Biblical Studies at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and in 1980 accepted the call to serve as pastor at Bethlehem.

John is the author of more than 30 books and more than 25 years of his preaching and teaching is available free at desiringGod.org.

John and his wife, Noel, have four sons, one daughter, and an increasing number of grandchildren.

I agree with Rob Bell's sentiments
in 'Velvet Elvis' where he comments
on John Piper in a footnote saying,
"Whatever you can find by Piper,
buy it and read it!"

John Piper raises the bar to a high level with his strong Bible-centred, Christ-focused and God-honouring approach to Scripture, the Church and Worship.

There is a real need for the prophetic ministries to embrace and adopt this kind of focus and devotion that brings real hope, joy and courage to the heart of the believer in their daily walk with God.

Sadly, some of the most well known prophetic ministries at large in the church today, have little time for doctrine and theology. It can be viewed as cumbersome, drab and not a little boring.
f
Piper brings a breath of fresh air as he ministers with integrity, vision and passion for the things that God has placed on his heart.

The days are coming.

I long to see prophetic ministries ministering alongside men such as Piper, Stott, MacArthur, Packer & Sproul.

Please take a look at John Piper's website and if you get the opportunity, read all of his books...!
